Auto Insurance Optional Coverage
Replacement Cost on Newer Vehicles
If you purchase or lease a new car, new car replacement coverage can cover you before you even leave the dealership. This is important, since a car's value can depreciate up to 20 percent in its first year. Since auto insurance policies normally cover vehicles on the basis of Actual Cash Value, this depreciation would be paid out of your pocket should an accident occur which results in the total loss of your vehicle. Fortunately, we represent companies that offer New Car Replacement Coverage an an option. This will provide full replacement cost with no deductions for depreciation (usually within the first year or 15,000 miles).
World Wide Coverage
Do you travel outside the United States or Canada? If so, do you plan on renting a vehicle? The vast majority of companies will not extend liability to a vehicle used outside of this covered territory. Good news...we have a company that will get the job done. So, if you're renting a car in Mexico, Italy, or anywhere else...we can get you covered!
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. In most cases, companies are not obligated to replace parts damaged in a covered loss with OEM replacement parts. Many companies will use "Aftermarket" parts. Although there have been vast improvements in aftermarket parts over the years, some people would feel better knowing their vehicle is being repaired with OEM parts. If this sounds like you; let us know. We can focus our proposals on companies that offer this optional coverage.
Rental Car Coverage Enhancements
"I'm going on vacation, and will be renting a car. Does my insurance cover the rental vehicle?" We get this question a lot. Especially between Memorial Day and Labor Day. So, what's the answer? Well, in general, most insurance policies will insure a temporary rental vehicle in the same manner as your insured vehicle(s). However, it doesn't extend coverage to satisfy any extra requirements of the rental contract such as "diminished value". Solution: many of our carriers offer endorsements that will provide "diminished value" and "loss of use" should the rental vehicle be involved in a covered claim. Just let us know if you'd like it quoted. (For more information on Rental Car Coverage; click here
Ever take your dog or cat with you to run errands, visit family, or on a vacation? Chances are the answer is "yes" if you're a pet owner. Our furry family members are just as susceptible to being injured in an auto accident as we are. Many companies offer some coverage for veterinarian medical costs due to a covered loss. Let us know you're a pet owner when getting a quote. We can provide options for this coverage.
